At WWG we pride ourselves on having a class which is suitable for each individual who wishes to become involved in this wonderful sport.  We begin Gymnastics participation as soon as a child can walk, and progress right through to National level competitions.  Everyone can find something which suits them at WWG!

We offer a Free Trial Lesson to all new participants.

Pre-School Gymnastics

Our Pre-School lessons involve movement to music, circuits to develop balance and co-ordination, strength and stamina, and group activity to encourage participation and fun!  All classes are 45 minutes long.

PAYG Parent and Toddler Sessions – babies to 2 years

Tumbling Toddlers – 2 to 3.5 years (parents participate too)

Rising Fives – 3.5 to 5 years (children take part unaccompanied)

Award Scheme Gymnastics

Our Award Scheme lessons run in 10-week terms and use a Scheme of Work developed by our coaches to ensure fun and learning as well as a variety of different gymnastic activities across the term.  Badge-testing takes place in weeks 2, 5 and 8.

Recreational Girls 5 years + and Recreational Boys 5 years + . 1 hour classes:

Beginners – BG Badges 8 and 7

Group 2 – BG Badges 6, 5 and 4

Group 3 – BG Badges 3, 2 and 1

Group 4 – BG Badges Bronze, Silver and Gold

Adult Gymnastics – open sessions every Monday evening 8.00-9.00pm and Wednesday evening 7.30-9.00pm for anyone who wishes to give it a go, or just to have fun and keep fit.

Development Gymnastics

Development Groups are joined by invitation only.  We hold Development Trials each year in July and November, to which coaches will invite those children who show potential.  Our Development Groups consist of:

Grades – gymnasts who have passed their first Wiltshire Grade (2-4 hours per week)

Levels – gymnasts who have passed up to Grade 1 (6 hours per week)

Regional Grades – Grades girls who like a bit of a challenge!

Squad – boys and girls with the potential to compete at Regional Grades, National Grades or Compulsory Grades (8-21 hours per week).

(Please see our ‘Competitions’ page for further details of these Grades)

Rhythmic Gymnastics

This is a floor-exercise based discipline using apparatus: ball, hoop, ribbon, rope, and clubs.  We have been lucky enough to engage the services of ex-2012 Olympian Francesca Fox to help us to develop this discipline within our Club.

Trampolining

Lessons are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and work towards Rebound Therapy accredited award schemes.

Parkour

Also known as ‘FreeRunning’ or ‘FreeG’, this is the art of expressing oneself in his or her environment without limitation of movement, and involves generally hurling oneself over obstacles in the gym with some semblance of control!  This discipline of gymnastics is popular with teens and offers a great alternative to the highly-disciplined skill development of Artistic Gymnastics.

1:1 or 1:2 lessons

WWG also offers 1:1 lessons with a qualified coach for 1 hour, or 1:2 if children prefer to take part with a friend.  This can be a great way to introduce children to gymnastics if they find a lesson environment stressful, if they are shy, or if they need special attention to master a certain skill or skills.  These lessons are open to anyone.

Gym Camps

WWE now offers gymnastics-based holiday clubs!  These are mixed-ability and mixed age and are open to anyone regardless of their gymnastics experience.  These sessions currently run Monday – Friday in school holidays.
