6 WWE gymnasts competed at South West Club Grades at the City of Bristol Gymnastics Centre on 13th July, and achieved 2 passes and 4 distinctions. Alice Matthews achieved a distinction at Grade 14, performing 5 extremely consistent routines to score a distinction on every individual piece of apparatus.
In Grade 13 Chloe Johnston and Jessica Richardson also achieved distinctions, placing 10th and 15th overall out of 23 gymnasts. Chloe also placed 3rd overall on Vault. Becky Ellis and Ashleigh Bygrave achieved a pass at Grade 13, with Ashleigh scoring 3rd overall on Range and Conditioning.
Catherine Hall achieved a distinction at Grade 9, and is the first WWE gymnast to ever do so. She also placed 1st overall in this grade. Huge congratulations to all the girls, who performed really well against much bigger clubs, all with permanent training facilities. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for WWE once we have our own facility: hopefully by the end of this Summer, so watch this space!
